No. 11 Men's Rowing Closes IRAs with 10th-Place Team Finish

WEST WINDSOR, N.J. - The Boston University men's rowing team's three eight boats all had strong finishes in their respective finals on Sunday at the IRA National Championship Regatta on Lake Mercer to help the Terriers place 10th in the team standings.
The Varsity 8 boat won the C final while the Second Varsity 8 and Third Varsity 8 placed second and fourth in their respective petite finals to give BU a total of 173 points, resulting in a 10th-place finish in the Ten Eyck team standings.
Led by coxswain Micah Lee and stroke Paul Seiters, the V8 was near or at the front all race, moving ahead of Wisconsin at the 1,000-meter mark before fending off Drexel and the Badgers at the finish line. with a time of 5:44.166.
In the 2V8 coxed by Emily Slawin and stroked by Hurst Thompson, the Terriers were third after the first 500 meters but moved past Syracuse soon after the midpoint and hung tight with Princeton before finishing just .53 seconds behind the Tigers with a time of 5:45.64.
BU was fifth through 500 meters in the 3V8 race but moved into fourth quickly and stayed there for the majority of the race. The Terriers' boat, coxed by Peter Adams and stroked by Dylan Fagiani, tried to break into the top three but finished in 5:59.82 behind winner Princeton, Syracuse and Penn.
With the Varsity 4's win in Saturday's C final, all four BU boats finished in the top 13 nationally. The 10th-place team finish matched last year's result.
