Women’s Basketball Adds Four More Newcomers For 2023-24

BOSTON – The Boston University women's basketball program will have four additional Terriers for the 2023-24 season, Head Coach Melissa Graves announced on Wednesday.
Sierra Bentley, Anete Adler, Natalie Jasper, and Emelia O'Gilvie are the latest wave of newcomers to the program. They join incoming freshman Aoibhe Gormley, Audrey Ericksen, and Inés Monteagudo, who were announced in the previous fall.
BU, the reigning Patriot League regular season champion, are up to seven newcomers for 2023-24. Among the five returning student-athletes are Patriot League Defensive Player of the Year Caitlin Weimar and All-Patriot League Third Team selection Alex Giannaros.

- Sierra Bentley joins the Terriers following a standout career at Northfield Mount Hermon.
- A co-captain in 2022-23, she averaged 13 points, nine rebounds, and two assists as a senior.
- Her performance that year led to All-NEPSAC Honorable Mention and NEPSAC AA Division All-Star honors.
- Bentley also competed for the track and field team at Northfield Mount Hermon in her senior year.
- As a junior, she also suited up for the cross country program.
ANETE ADLER
6-5 · Forward · Harjumaa, Estonia · University of Rhode Island
- Anete Adler transfers to Terrier Town following her freshman year at Rhode Island.
- The Estonia native totaled 45 minutes across 10 games for the A-10 regular season co-champions in 2022-23, making seven of her 11 shots.
- Adler has experience in the FIBA U18 Women's European Championship, averaging 3.7 points and 5.7 boards for Estonia in the 2019 Division B circuit.
- In 2020-21, she made four appearances for Estonia-NKML on Team G4S Noorteliiga, registering 17 points, 12 rebounds, and 3.3 assists per game.
- Adler previously participated in the NBA Academy Program, a year-round basketball development program that provides top high school athletes from outside the U.S. with a holistic approach to player development. From July-August of 2021, she took part in the NBA Academy Women's Virtual Program, an eight-week basketball and leadership development program for more than 40 of the top female high-school prospects from overseas.
NATALIE JASPER
5-5 · Guard · Pittsburgh, Pa. · Georgetown University
- Natalie Jasper also arrives as a transfer student-athlete after spending her first two collegiate years at Georgetown.
- In those two seasons, Jasper played in 16 games, including 13 during her freshman campaign.
- Prior to Georgetown, she was a two-time 2A WPIAL First Team All-Section standout at the Ellis School, while also garnering 2A WPIAL Player of the Year honors.
- She is the all-time leading scorer at Ellis with 1,214 career points, averaging 22.7 points, 5.9 rebounds, 3.9 steals, and 2.8 assists per game.
- Jasper's parents were both track and field student-athletes with the Hoyas. Her mother, Steffanie (Smith) was a six-time All-American with six BIG EAST titles, while her father, Michael, was part of the 4x800 relay team that captured an NCAA title.
EMELIA O'GILVIE
5-8 · Guard · Boston, Mass. · St. Andrew's School
- Emelia O'Gilvie is an incoming freshman and walk-on student-athlete, having played high school basketball at both Boston Latin School and St. Andrew's.
- During her high school career, she has accumulated 1472 career points, 598 rebounds, 382 assists, and 532 steals.
- At Boston Latin, she captured Boston Herald and The Boston Globe All-Scholastic honors in 2020-21, while adding an honorable mention for the former publication a year later.
- A multi-sport student-athlete, O'Gilvie also competed in track & field and lacrosse, reaching states in the long jump and 100-meter hurdles at Boston Latin.
- At St. Andrew's, she was named the SENE Player of the Year in lacrosse during the 2022-23 school year.
