BETHEL, Ohio –  The Patriot League champion Boston University women's rowing team wrapped up competition at the 2024 NCAA Championship with a 19th-place finish in the team standings on a rainy Sunday morning at East Fork/Harsha Lake.

The second varsity eight and varsity four boats each placed sixth in their respective C final while the varsity eight boat took second in the D final to help the Terriers secure 24 points, surpassing the total earned in their last two NCAA appearances in 2022 (23) and 2014 (17). BU finished ahead of Atlantic 10 champion Rhode Island (17), AAC champion SMU (13) and MAAC champion Jacksonville (10) with CAA champion Northeastern grabbing the No. 17 slot at 26 points. Big 12 champion Texas (130), Pac 12 champion Stanford (127) and Big 12 runner-up Tennessee (118) earned spots on the podium.

URI though finished strong to win the D final at 6:40.280, 1.7 seconds ahead of the Terriers with Jacksonville and SMU well behind by open water.

Making its second consecutive C final appearance, the 2V8 coxed by Trisha Jaggi and stroked by Ada Giraldo were within 2.5 seconds of West Coast Conference representative Gonzaga at the midway point. The Bulldogs though pulled away over the next 500 meters and held off a late BU charge to take fifth at 6:51.444, 3.7 seconds ahead of the Terriers. ACC champion Syracuse won the race at 6:38.430.

The V4 coxed by Kennedy Walker and stroked by Sonya Carson raced in the C Final for the first time as Patriot League champion and held a 1.2 second lead over Gonzaga midway with two other crews in Ohio State and Indiana only a couple of seconds ahead. All three opponents had strong finishes though, as the Hoosiers took fifth with a time of 7:27.312, 7.3 seconds ahead of the Terriers. Virginia won the race at 7:14.352.
