WORCESTER, Mass. - Freshman
Kiki Rampersad broke a pool record in her 100-yard butterfly collegiate debut and was a part of two pool relay records as the Boston University women's swimming & diving team opened its season with a 191-109 win over Holy Cross on Saturday at the Hart Center Pool.
Rampersad swam a 55.68 in the 100 butterfly to set the pool record and post the 10th-fastest time in program history.
She opened the meet by joining classmates
Danka Ndubuisi,
Hadar Miller and
Molly Barber for a pool record time of 1:46.30 in the 200 medley relay. To wrap up the meet, Rampersad and Barber teamed up with fellow first-years
Lily Osborn and
Ava Coombs to snap the pool record in the 400 freestyle relay with a time of 3:33.83.
Four Terriers claimed two wins apiece. Ndubuisi earned two wins in her debut, coming out on top in the 50 free and 200 breast. Sophomore
Cambria Jewett won the 200 fly and 200 back while classmate
Katie Pestrichelli claimed both distance events (500 & 1000 free). Senior
Haley Newman came out on top in the 200 free and 200 IM.
The Terriers will return to action next Saturday (Oct. 18) when they face Bucknell in the home opener. The meet will start at 1:30 p.m.
