Terriers Drop Close Battles With Army West Point, Boston College

BOSTON – The Boston University men's swimming & diving program competed, but ultimately fell to Army West Point (134-109) and Boston College (127-116) in a double dual meet on Friday evening at the FitRec Competition Pool.
Senior Tony Ponomarev captured a win in the 100 backstroke with a time of 48.92 seconds while sophomore Giovanni Sullo won the 500 freestyle at 4:31.06. Sullo added a runner-up performance in the 1000 free, clocking in at 9:22.97.
On the springboard, junior Zein Mahana won both the 1-meter (286.85 points) and 3-meter (339.5) dives. Freshmen Tyler Robinson and Ethan Wong followed Mahana with second-place scores in the 1-meter and 3-meter, respectively.
BU turns its attention to a dual meet at UMass on Saturday (Nov. 8) at 11 a.m.
