Men's Basketball Set to Host Merrimack Saturday Afternoon

BOSTON – Concluding a two-game homestand, the Boston University men's basketball team will host Merrimack on Saturday with the tip set for 1 p.m.
The Terriers most recently flushed 13 3-pointers as part of a 90-77 wire-to-wire victory over Brown this past Wednesday, while the Warriors came up short at Tarleton State (76-62).

- With the win against the Bears, BU extended its home regular season win streak to 12 contests.
- Due to injuries, the Terriers have used a different lineup in all three games with junior Michael McNair, sophomore Ben Defty and senior Ben Roy the only ones to start each contest.
- A starter for the first time against Brown, freshman Sam Hughes is currently shooting 57.1 percent from behind the arc to help average a team-high 15.7 ppg, while McNair is close behind at 14.7 ppg alongside 4.3 apg.
- A fellow freshman with one start, Chance Gladden is also averaging double digits in points at 10.0 ppg alongside 3.7 apg.
- In the post, Defty is averaging 12.3 ppg and 5.7 rpg with 2.7 apg and 2.3 bpg, while graduate student Malcolm Chimezie owns a team-high 6.0 rpg to help the Terriers out-rebound opponents by 4.0 rpg.

- Concluding a four-game road trip, the Warriors started 0-3 with losses at South Dakota State (75-66), then-No. 20 Auburn (95-57) and Tarleton State after posting an 18-15 (14-6 MAAC) record last season.
- 6-foot-5 guard and one of seven transfers on the roster, junior Ernest Shelton leads Merrimack at 19.3 ppg with the help of 3.3 made 3-pointers per game alongside six total steals.
- 6-foot-2 guard Kevair Kennedyi s second on the team at 9.0 ppg while tying Stonehill transfer Todd Brogna at 3.7 rebounds per game.
- Merrimack is averaging 61.7 ppg and 31.2 FG% while holding opponents to 82.0 ppg and 47.2 FG%.
- BU leads the all-time series, 10-1, with a 4-1 mark since the teams faced off in 2019 for the first time since 1984.
- Merrimack led by as many as 15 points early in the second half at home before the Terriers rallied down the stretch to pull within one in 64-61 loss.
- Warriors finished with 9-6 advantage in made 3FGs while committing just six turnovers against BU's 11.
- Two years ago at Case Gym, BU claimed a 74-63 victory.
- BU will start off a four-game road trip by visiting Columbia on Tuesday (Nov. 18) at 7 p.m.
