Women’s Basketball Adds Danielle Spiliotis to Coaching Staff
July 18, 2025 | Women's Basketball
BOSTON – The Boston University women's basketball program bolstered its staff with the addition of Danielle Spiliotis as an assistant coach, the program formally announced on Friday.
"I am thrilled to welcome Danielle to our coaching staff," said head coach Melissa Graves. "Between her playing experiences and her time investing in programs in both the Ivy League and NEC, she adds invaluable insight to our day-to-day operations. Danielle is not just a great coach and tireless recruiter; she is a great person. I am excited to witness her guidance toward our student-athletes."
Spiliotis arrives to Terrier Town following two seasons at Central Connecticut State in a similar role. In that time, she helped the Blue Devils post 20 wins after collecting 21 in the previous four seasons. She helped develop two All-NEC First Team selections, including CCSU's first-ever NEC Player of the Year, Belle Lanpher, in 2024-25. The Blue Devils hosted their first NEC Championship home game last season after posting a 10-6 conference record.
Prior to her time at CCSU, Spiliotis spent time at Dartmouth as an assistant coach from 2019-21, primarily focusing on post player development. Five Big Green student-athletes averaged at least six points per game during her first campaign in 2019-20 before the COVID-19 pandemic cancelled the Ivy League's 2020-21 season.
Spiliotis was a four-year letterwinner at Cedarville University in Ohio. Helping the Yellow Jackets post 89 wins in her tenure, she finished her career with 84 blocked shots, ranking sixth in program history. She became the second student-athlete in program history to play professional basketball after beginning her career in 2014, playing as recently as 2022.
A 2014 graduate from Cedarville with a degree in worship arts & music, Spiliotis also obtained two master's degrees from Liberty University in mental health & wellness (2018) and clinical mental health counseling (2023). She also has professional experience as a mental health therapist, assisting student-athletes in her previous coaching stops as well.
