Ruiz Named Patriot League Rookie of the Week

BETHLEHEM, Pa. — Freshman Justin Ruiz of the Boston University cross country team was named Patriot League rookie of the week, the league announced Tuesday morning.
Ruiz finished 19th at the UMass Dartmouth Cross Country Invitational with a time of 25:09.3 in the 8K. That was the fourth-fastest time by a Terrier and helped BU win the 8K race with 60 points — it was also the third-fastest freshman time in the race. This is the Miami, Florida native's first weekly award.
Next up, the Terriers travel to the Paul Short Invite at Lehigh on Oct. 3.
