Q&A With Callie
  • Why did you choose to attend BU? "I chose to attend BU because it offers the perfect balance of academic excellence and competitive athletics in the amazing city of Boston. The strong academic reputation ensures that I will reach my full potential in the classroom, and the historic and legendary hockey program allowed me to compete at the highest level and reach my athletic dreams. BU truly has it all and was my dream school!"
  • What did you enjoy most about your BU experience? "What I enjoyed most about BU was meeting and connecting with incredible people all around the world, and living out my dream of playing Division 1 hockey for the school. I met lifelong friends at BU, and will forever cherish the memories I made. Furthermore, being able to wear the BU jersey and represent the school was something that little Callie could have never even imagined, and I am forever grateful for that experience."
  • How did your time at BU prepare you to get to where you are today? "My time at BU prepared me both on and off the ice. Competing at the Division 1 level pushed me to grow as an athlete and gave me the tools to take the next step into professional hockey. Just as importantly, the academic and community environment at BU challenged me to grow as a person, teaching me discipline, resilience, hard work, and how to balance the many demands of being a student-athlete. Those lessons continue to guide me in my career and for the rest of my life."
  • Why is it meaningful for you to be involved with the University, Athletics, and Women's Ice Hockey as an alumnus? "It's meaningful for me to stay connected with BU, Athletics, and Women's Hockey because this community shaped so much of who I am today. The friendships, opportunities and experiences I had at BU were truly life-changing, and I feel proud to be part of such an incredible University and athletic organization. Staying involved allows me to give back, support the next generation of student-athletes, and stay connected to a place that will always feel like home. I am forever grateful for the best four years!"
