February 13, 2026 | Men's Track & Field
BOSTON — Two Terriers broke school records for the second time this season as the Boston University men's track & field team ended day one of the David Hemery Valentine Invitational on Friday.
Sophomore Thomas Cowan finished third in the elite 800m run, clocking a 1:46.83 time. That bested his own previous school record and tied a national indoor record for his native country of New Zealand. The mark is also 15th in the NCAA this season after tonight's results.
Senior Freddy Collins also broke a record in the 3000m, finishing eighth overall in the 3000m but winning his heat with a 7:49.90 time. It's his second school record this season after shattering the indoor 5000m record two weeks ago. The mark bested the previous school record of 7:50.96, set by Foster Malleck in 2025.
