Swimming & Diving Heads to Navy for Patriot League Championships
February 17, 2026 | Men's Swimming & Diving, Women's Swimming & Diving
ANNAPOLIS, Md. - The Boston University swimming & diving teams arrived at Navy on Tuesday in advance of the 2026 Patriot League Championships, which will be held at the Midshipmen's Lejeune Hall on Feb. 18-21.
The four-day event begins on Wednesday with the men's 3-meter diving trials at noon. The swimming events open on Wednesday at 5 p.m. with the women's 200-yard medley relay final. Preliminaries will begin at 10 a.m. with finals at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. The remaining diving trials will be contested at 1 p.m. each day.
BU will look to improve on last year's showing as both teams placed fifth. Senior Haley Newman, the defending 200-yard butterfly champion, will aim for All-Patriot League honors for the fourth straight year while junior Izzy Valantiejus (distance free) collected All-PL Second Team accolades last season.
Navy is the defending team champion on the women's side while Army West Point claimed the men's title last year for the first time since 2001.
The Terriers combined for 18 weekly awards (women - 11, men - 7) during the season and have several swimmers and divers who enter the meet with strong chances of reaching the podium.
