Men’s Rowing to Race at Eastern Sprints on Sunday

BOSTON – Returning to the water after a two-week break, the No. 11 Boston University men's rowing program takes part in the 2026 Eastern Sprints on Sunday (May 17).
BU will send out five crews to compete in the morning heats, followed by the finals in the afternoon. Fans can watch every event on Overnght.com with a subscription while live results will be available on the Quinsigamond River Association's website.

- 8:10 a.m. – Fourth Varsity 8 (Heat 2)
- Lane 4 vs. Penn, Harvard, Brown, Navy, Cornell
- 8:30 a.m. – Varsity 8 (Heat 2)
- Lane 3 vs. Harvard, Penn, Columbia, Georgetown
- 10:00 a.m. – Second Varsity 8 (Heat 3)
- Lane 4 vs. Syracuse, Dartmouth, Cornell, Georgetown
- 10:30 a.m. – Third Varsity 8 (Heat 3)
- Lane 3 vs. Dartmouth, Penn, Cornell, Wisconsin
- 1:00 p.m. – Fifth Varsity 8 Final
- Lane 3 vs. Princeton, Dartmouth, Penn, Harvard, Navy
- 1:10 to 1:20 p.m. – Fourth Varsity 8 finals
- 2:32 to 2:52 p.m. – Third Varsity 8 finals
- 3:26 to 3:46 p.m. – Second Varsity 8 finals
- 4:28 to 4:48 p.m. – Varsity 8 finals
- The final heavyweight seeding poll was released on May 7.
- BU's Varsity 8 slots in eighth, just behind Yale and ahead of Syracuse and Cornell.
- The 2V is 10th while the 3V is ninth and the 4V is seventh.
- The Terriers are one of six schools with a Fifth Varsity 8, seeded third behind Princeton and Dartmouth.
- BU competed against Syracuse, Dartmouth and Columbia at the Lake Morey Invite from April 25-26 in Fairlee, Vt.
- The Terriers retained the Lusins Cup with a victory over No. 17 Columbia in the Varsity 8, then dispatched No. 9 Syracuse to capture the Conlan Cup for the first time since 2019.
- BU's 1V also battled No. 7 Dartmouth to a photo finish where both crews were separated by a mere 0.5 seconds.
- The most recent iteration of the IRCA/IRA Varsity 8 Poll, released on May 6, placed the Terrier Varsity 8 in 11th.
- BU's 2V is slotted in 13th while the 3V occupies 12th.
- The Ten Eyck Team Points currently have BU 12th in the nation, behind Syracuse and Yale while ranking ahead of Cornell and Columbia.
- In 2025, the Terriers' four crews all posted top 10 finishes on Lake Quinsigamond.
- The Third and Fourth Varsity 8 boats had the highest finishes at eighth overall following runner-up performances in the Petite Finals.
- After a special convocation ceremony to honor its senior class, BU prepares for the IRA National Championship Regatta from May 29-31 on Lake Natoma in Gold River, Calif.
