One of the finest oarsmen ever to have been associated with Boston University, Ted Nash was a member of the U.S. crews that won the Gold Medal in the 1960 Olympics and the Gold Medals in the Pan American Games in Chicago and Brazil. He was eight times a U.S. national champion, and in 1960, was named to the Helms Athletic Hall of Fame.
Equally successful as a coach, he guided the freshmen crew
at the University of Pennsylvania to the Intercollegiate Rowing
Association title four years in a row. In his first two years
as varsity coach at Penn, his crews finished first and third
in the nationals.
