Regarded as the best defensive back ever to play for Boston
University, Bruce Taylor's career is a legend. The "Most
Valuable Player" on Boston University's 1969 team that
posted a regular season record of 9-1, Taylor led the team
in scoring as a defensive back and led the nation in punt
return average and punt returns for touchdowns. He was the
first defensive player in the nation selected in the professional
draft in 1970 and went on to win "Defensive Rookie of
the Year" in the National Football League as a regular
with the San Francisco Forty-Niners.
His collegiate honors included selection as the most outstanding
football player in New England his senior year as well as
All-East and All America.
