The Boston Terrier became the Boston University mascot on November 15, 1922. The always silent mascot is 6'3" and weighs 200 lbs. His favorite foods include corndogs, hotdogs, chili dogs, and BC Eagles.

A national celebrity, Rhett has been seen on ESPN, CBS, CNN, and NESN. Rhett was named an All-American mascot in 1996 and placed fourth in the National Mascot Championships in 2002. His known rival mascots are Baldwin the Eagle (BC) and Bananas the Black Bear (Maine).

Rhett attends soccer, hockey, basketball, and lacrosse games, youth clinics, the National Cheerleading Championships, and mascot Championships and where Rhett cheers along with the fans (silently, of course) and greets BU fans in the crowd. At hockey games Rhett performs on the ice during intermissions.

Rhett's other activities include making appearances at the GSU, dining halls, and other campus locations for BU events and promotions, attending birthday parties, and visiting children's hospitals and local schools for holiday events with varsity athletes. Rhett also sends out a monthly newsletter to young fans that are part of Team Terrier.
