About Us
Our mission is to empower all student-athletes with the knowledge, skills, and resources necessary to optimize their health, academic success, and athletic performance. Through evidence-based sports nutrition education, individualized guidance, and practical fueling strategies, we aim to help student-athletes develop lifelong habits that support both immediate performance goals and long-term well-being.
Interprofessional Care
We are committed to delivering comprehensive, athlete-centered care through close collaboration with our interprofessional performance and healthcare team. By partnering with strength and conditioning coaches, athletic trainers, physicians, sports psychologists, therapists, and other health professionals, we create a coordinated support system that addresses the whole athlete.

Team Nutrition Education
Team talks provide interactive education on a wide variety of topics, including building a strong nutrition foundation, nutrient timing, recovery, hydration, travel nutrition, supplement safety, and more. Talks will be customized to each team's unique nutrition demands and schedule.
Individual Nutrition Sessions
Nutrition counseling sessions are confidential meetings for student-athletes interested in working on areas related to their performance, recovery, and ability to navigate food on or off campus.
Nutrition support areas include, but are not limited to:
- Fueling for performance and recovery
- Body composition
- Navigating dining on or off campus
- Travel nutrition
- Managing food allergies, intolerances, & GI issues
- Hydration
- Eating disorder & disordered eating support
*All individual dietitian sessions are fully confidential. SCNC nutrition support is free to all BU varsity rosters.
Interactive Sports Nutrition Activities
We translate performance science into practical lifestyle choices through real-world, hands-on learning:
Dining Hall Deep Dive: Learn to build a performance plate in West Dining Hall that supports your training goals and personal preferences. This 30-minute guided session includes an orientation to the different stations, a discussion of how to build balanced meals, how to create unique meals based on personal preference, who to ask for help and how to navigate allergies or intolerances, as well as an overview of “Rhetty-to-go” meals and how to order them.
Interactive Grocery Store Workshop: Learn budget-friendly meal preparation, food label analysis, and label navigation at Star Market. This 60-minute interactive session includes tips for creating a budget-friendly shopping list, building balanced and easy dorm or apartment-friendly meals, reading and interpreting food labels, and more.
Free Cooking Classes: In-person culinary performance classes held at FitRec. Registration required.

The Terrier Fueling Station provides convenient, high-impact nutrition support before and after workouts. Our goal is to ensure all varsity student-athletes have access to the optimal nutrients required to fuel performance, prevent muscle breakdown, and maximize physical recovery windows.
Whether you need a quick pre-workout carbohydrate boost or a post-workout protein source to kickstart muscle recovery, the fueling station is stocked with evidence-based options to support your athletic goals.
