Former Boston University standout Rosa Moriello was named volunteer assistant coach for the Boston University men’s and women’s cross country and track & field teams in August 2018. She served as a part-time assistant coach for the teams in 2017-18.

Moriello is a 2015 graduate of BU, earning a bachelor of science degree in business administration, concentrating in marketing and organization behavior.

While a student-athlete at BU, the Naugatuck, Connecticut, native won seven Patriot League individual titles, including back-to-back victories at the Patriot League Cross Country Championships. Moriello helped BU win two cross country team titles and was part of the program when BU swept all three major Patriot League trophies (cross country, indoor track & field, outdoor track & field) in 2013-14.

Among the many plaudits Moriello received were three USTFCCCA All-Region selections in cross country. She made two appearances at the NCAA Championships (outdoor 5,000m and cross country) and was named to the Patriot League 25th Anniversary Team for both cross country and track & field.

Moriello most recently competed for Team USA at the 2017 Great Edinburgh XCountry Challenge, helping the Americans finish in a tie for second.

Before returning to BU, Moriello was named the assistant cross country coach at Simmons College. While at Simmons, she helped guide the team to a first-place finish at the Great Northeast Atlantic Conference Championships.
