James Reilly has joined the Boston University swimming and diving staff as a volunteer assistant coach for the 2013-14 season.
Reilly comes to BU from Western State Colorado University where he served as an assistant coach for the Division II swimming and diving program. Reilly's responsibilities at Western State Colorado included assisting with recruiting, on deck coaching duties and implementing, organizing and executing the team's winter training trip, meets and practices.
While at WSCU, Reilly also served as the head coach of the Kingston Swimming Club at the Gunnison Community Center and the head coach of the Masters Program for WSCU Aquatics. In addition he spent time as a coach for the Gunnison High School swim team.
Reilly is currently working towards his Master of Education in counseling with an emphasis in sport/performance technology at BU. He is a 2013 graduate of WSCU with bachelor's degrees in exercises and sport science and psychology.
Reilly, who was the founder and president of the Western State Triathlon Club, captured eighth place in the 20-24 male division at the USAT 2012 National Championships.
