A member of the department's senior staff, Graham is responsible for leading the development and alumni relations effort toward a $45 million goal in support of the Campaign for BU while managing the athletic director's advisory board. He is also in charge of developing a fundraising strategy to help support 24 varsity sports and more than 650 student-athletes.
In his previous role within BU's development staff, he developed and managed a portfolio of 100 major gift prospects in the New York region and assisted in raising $852 million toward the school's $1 billion goal.
A native of Pittsburgh, Pa., he came to BU from Penn State, where he served as director of major gifts for the Smeal College of Business from 2010-14. During his tenure there, he helped raise $93 million of the college's $100 million campaign goal and closed 24 major gifts of at least $50,000 during 2013-14. Penn State successfully completed a $2 billion fundraising campaign in June 2014.
Graham's promotion at BU marks a return to the Patriot League, as he served as the athletic fundraising coordinator for Holy Cross from 2006-10. He managed the fundraising efforts for 27 varsity sports and also assisted the athletic director in marketing and sponsorship projects. He also created and served as chief writer of the Crusader Nation magazine publication, which was distributed to alumni, parents and friends of HC athletics.
Prior to joining the Crusaders, he served as the assistant director of marketing and promotions from 2004-06 at Northeastern University, where he also assisted with athletic development, corporate sponsorships, facility operations and merchandising.
A member of the National Association of Athletic Development Directors, Graham earned his bachelor's degree in economics from Penn State in 2000. He went on to receive a master's degree in sport and recreation from Temple University in 2004.
