Former Boston University women's basketball Sarah Hope returned to the program as an assistant coach in May, 2019.
In her first season on staff, Hope aided BU to post its best regular season finish in the Patriot League at 12-6 during the 2020 season. Working primarily with the guards, Hope guided Maggie Pina to earn Patriot League Rookie of the Year honors, and Katie Nelson to be earn All-Patriot Leagu Second Team status. Pina additionally earned a spot on the All-Patriot League Third Team and joined Sydney Johnson on the All-Rookie Team.

Hope returned to Boston after spending the past two seasons on staff at Holy Cross, where she started as the director of operations in 2017 before being elevated to assistant coach this past January. Following her elevation, the Crusaders went 7-2 down the stretch of the regular season and reached the Patriot League Tournament semifinals.

A four-year starter on the court, Hope posted a prolific career as a Terrier, retiring as BU's career 3-point holder with 253 makes and was named to the All-Patriot League Second Team her senior year to complement her All-Patriot League Rookie Team selection in 2014. The Medway, Massachusetts native also thrived in the classroom, earning Patriot League Academic Honor Roll honors four times.
Hope was also a member of the Bloom Family Leadership Academy for over three years, and participated in the So You Want To Be A Coach program as well as the NCAA Career in Sports Forum and the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.
Hope graduated from Boston University in 2017 with a degree in communications.
