Lynn Ratte concluded her third season as assistant coach for the Boston University women's rowing team in 2016-17. Ratte was named assistant coach of the women's rowing program in Dec. 2014.
During the 2016-17 season, her third at BU, Lynn helped coach the Terriers to a second-place finish at the Patriot League Championships where the BU varsity eight boat won gold and was named Patriot League Boat of the Year. Other season highlights included the BU V8 advancing to the grand finals at the Eastern Sprints and finishing fifth. Earlier in the spring season, the BU V8 defeated crews from Bucknell and Holy Cross on the Charles River and was named Patriot League Boat of the Week.
During the 2015-16 season, her second with BU, Ratte helped coach the Terriers to a runner-up finish at the Patriot League Championship where BU won gold in the varsity eight race and finished second to PL Champion Navy by just one point.
During the 2014-15 season, her first at BU, the Terriers won two bronze medals at the Patriot League Championship and finished fourth as a team. Earlier in the season, the BU finished in 7th place at teh Eastern Sprints with 61 team points in the field of 12, ahead of Georgetown, Holy Cross, West Virginia, Rutgers, MIT and Buffalo.
She joined the Terriers' full-time staff after serving as an assistant coach at Marietta College since September 2014 where she taught freshman walk-ons technique and helped recruit incoming freshman rowers. In addition to her work at Marietta College, Ratte also served as a volunteer coach at Viking Rowing Camp, ACRA Summer Sculling Camp and Malden High School. Ratte was named captain of the Terriers her senior year and was part of BU's varsity eight boat that was awarded the Patriot League Boat of the Year distinction in 2014 after its dramatic victory in the final race of the 2014 Patriot League Championship. The win propelled BU to its second-straight NCAA Championship appearance. After her senior season, Ratte was named First Team All-Conference Patriot League and Mid-Atlantic First Team All-Region. In 2013, Ratte helped the Terriers to a conference title when she sat in the six seat for the varsity eight boat that won the CAA Championship race. The victory earned BU its first trip to the NCAAs since 2006. The Egg Harbor, N.J. native earned her B.A. in psychology from Boston University in 2014.
