Hillier arrived at BU in the summer of 2012 after spending the 2011-12 season as an assistant coach at Stony Brook. She helped guide the Seawolves to a record of 14-5 and an appearance in the America East Championship game. Hillier worked primarily with the Seawolves' attackers and midfielders and also assisted with scouting, recruiting and organizing Stony Brook's Red and White Elite Lacrosse Camps. Prior to working with the Seawolves, Hillier spent three seasons as an assistant coach and Long Island University in Brooklyn.
The 2007 graduate of Hofstra was a four-year starter for the Pride and finished her career as the school's all-time leader in assists (82) and second in points scored (215). She was a four-time All-CAA and IWLCA All-Region honoree and a two-time All-American, earning IWLCA second team honors in 2006 and third team honors in 2007.
A member of the Colonial Athletic Association's Silver Anniversary team in women's lacrosse, Hillier was named the conference's Rookie of the Year in 2004 and helped the Pride win the 2007 CAA Championship after scoring a team-high 52 points. After graduating in 2007 with a bachelor's degree in psychology, she went on to compete for the U.S. National Team.
Hillier is a native of Farmingdale, N.Y., and previously served as the head coach of the Long Island Elite Yellow Jackets (2003-08) and as the director of the Long Island Hornets lacrosse (2003-05). She was a two-time All-America selection at Farmingdale High School and helped her team to the Nassau County and Long Island championships and a spot in the New York state finals in 2002.
