Boston University

Nafeesa Connolly was promoted to associate director of marketing & community engagement in July 2022. She joined the Boston University Department of Athletics in October 2016.

Connolly oversees marketing & promotions, as well as in-game presentation, with a primary focus on men's and women's basketball, soccer, and softball. She also supports the Department's community engagement efforts, serves as the advisor for BU's Student-Athletes of Color group (SAOC), and oversees the University's spirit squads.

Prior to BU, Connolly worked in athletic communications at Northeastern University (2015-16) as the media contact for women’s volleyball, swimming and diving, and men’s and women’s track & field and cross country. She also co-advised the Huskies’ Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC).

Connolly holds a Master's degree in Project Management from Boston University, and a Bachelor's degree in Communications, with minors in Business and Marketing, from Simmons University. In college, she played Division III volleyball and served on NCAA National SAAC for three years.

After graduating, Connolly worked in Governance at the NCAA National Office in Indianapolis from 2014-15. She supported Division I, II and III’s senior leadership and legislative bodies in the various affairs of each membership, and the National Letter of Intent (NLI) program.

Connolly has helped with marketing, media, and external engagement efforts at a number of events, including the 2015 Men’s and Women’s Final Four, 2015 Regional Rules Seminar, 2014 Division II Fall Festival, 2014 NACWAA Convention, and the 2012 NCAA Men’s Lacrosse Championship.

Connolly currently resides in Natick, Mass. with her husband and son.
