Dr. Trevor Cote joined the Boston University Department of Athletics as the director of clinical sports psychology & athlete wellness in November 2024. Cote oversees the integration and delivery of mental health and mental performance services designed to enhance student-athlete well-being, development and performance.
Cote, who earned his doctorate in counseling psychology from Boston University, has over 15 years of sport psychology experience working in collegiate and professional athletic environments. Combining his athletic experience and professional training, Cote is committed to helping athletes and teams develop the necessary psychological tools to perform at their best.
The Rhode Island native received his bachelor’s degree in psychology in 2008 from Wheaton College, where he was a four-year starter for the soccer team. Cote earned three all-conference honors and was captain during his senior season.
