Terrier Men's Swim Team Defeated by UMass-Amherst

The Terrier men's swim team was defeated by UMass-Amherst, 235-64, on Saturday (November 10th).
The Minutemen, the Atlantic 10 champions in four of the last six years, won all 14 of the swimming events, with the top three swimmers in all but three events.
B.U.'s freshmen led the way, with Chris Collins (Pheonix, AZ), Victor Paquia (Lake Forest), David Brown (Fallbrook, CA) and Pablo Morales (San Juan, Puerto Rico) scoring for the Terriers.
Paquia was the lone Terrier with a first place finish, winning the 3-meter diving competition with a score of 287.70, 29 points higher than his nearest competitor.
Paquia, who won both the 1- and 3-meter events against New Hampshire on November 3rd in his collegiate debut, placed second in the 1-meter with a score of 254.10.
Collins placed second in the 50-yard freestyle in a time of 22.42, third in the 200-yard Individual Medley in 2:01.60, and fourth in the 200-yard backstroke in 2:02.24.
Brown finished second in the 200-yard freestyle and third in the 500-yard freestyle. Morales had a second-place finish in the 200-yard backstroke and a third-place finish in the 100-yard backstroke.
Junior Doug Mark (College Point, NY) placed second in the 500-yard freestyle, sophomore Brent Bernskrant (Queensbury, NY) placed third in the 200-yard freestyle, and senior Jeff Graves (Rockwell, TX) placed third in the 200-yard butterfly.
The Terriers will host Maine on Saturday at noon in America East conference action.
