BOSTON - The Boston University men's tennis team won the doubles point and held on to defeat the visiting Quinnipiac University Bobcats, 4-3, at the B. U. Track and Tennis Center on Sunday, April 13.
B. U. (4-10, 1-2 America East) took the doubles point thanks to wins by the No. 1 team of junior Geoff Wagner and senior Adam Siegel, who won their match, 8-3. The Terriers' No. 2 doubles team of seniors J. P. Debbink and Jason Vinoles defeated their opponents, 8-2.
Wagner and Siegel both won their singles matches. Wagner won a tight No. 1 match, 6-4, 6-7 (6), 6-4, while Siegel won at No. 2, 6-3, 6-4. The result of the contest came down to the No. 5 singles match between Quinnipiac's Fabian Villacis and B. U.'s Jason Vinoles. Vinoles won, 7-5, 4-6, 7-5 to give the overall victory to the Terriers.
The Terriers host the University of Hartford on Thursday, April 17 at 3 p.m.
