BALTIMORE — The Boston University men's tennis team picked up its second Patriot League win of the season as it defeated the Loyola Maryland Greyhounds 4-1 on Monday.
The Terriers (6-10, 2-1 PL) started by claiming the doubles point thanks to wins at second and third doubles. Junior Adrian Quiros and freshman David Asenov combined to win 7-6 (5) at the second flight and at third doubles, sophomores Jaydon Barki and Andrew Andea won, 6-3.
BU dropped the first singles match before Quiros put the Terriers up 2-1 with a 6-1, 7-5 victory at third singles. That was followed by a three-set thriller at second singles, ending in a 4-6, 6-3, 6-3 win for sophomore Payton Jim-On. The clincher was Andea, who cruised at fourth singles, 6-3, 6-3.
The Terriers will next play at Stonehill on April 1, before returning to Patriot League play on Saturday, April 4 at Holy Cross.
