Men's Tennis Bows Out of Patriot League Championship

BETHLEHEM, Pa. — The fourth-seeded Boston University men's tennis team bowed out of the Patriot League Championship at the hands of the Bucknell Bison in the quarterfinal round on Friday (April 24), losing 4-1.
The Bison managed to win doubles at lines one and two, taking a 5-1 lead at first doubles before the Terrier tandem of senior Jakob Esterowitz and sophomore Andrew Andea fought back to tie it at 5-5, but the Bison were able to put BU away and win 7-5. At second doubles, the Bison duo broke early and earned a 6-4 win over sophomore Ege Topkoc and junior Adrian Quiros.
In singles, the Terriers dropped lines six, one and five, but won at line four. It was sophomore Payton Jim-On who pulled away late in the first set and then cruised through the second set to come out on top, 7-5, 6-1.
At third singles, senior Jakob Esterowitz won the first set 7-6, lost the second set and was down 3-4 in the third set when the match ended. Junior Adrian Quiros led 6-3, 3-4 at line two when the match ended as well.
