Men's Golf Wraps Up Play in NEIGA Championship

The Boston university men???s golf team finished 45th at the New England Intercollegiate Golf Association Championship played in Brewster, Mass. The Terriers shot 719 (+134) in the 36-hole event, which is the oldest in the nation. Rhode Island, which shot 592 (+16) won the team title, which was first played in 1934. The University of New Mexico???s Tucker Invitational (52 years) in the second-oldest tournament.
BU was hindered by having only four competitors, meaning it had to count each score. College golf teams are allowed five golfers and can discard the highest score. Freshman Chris Conroy (Annapolis, Md.) was BU???s top performer, shooting 164 (+20), tied for 101st place. Connecticut???s Jason Parajeckas took home individual medalist honors at 139 (-5).
