
Koller Named Hockey East ITECH Rookie of the Month

BOSTON ??? Boston University freshman Laurel Koller (St. Paul, Minn.) was named the Hockey East ITECH Rookie of the Month after leading the league with 11 points (5-6???11) through nine games. Koller has five multiple-point games this season including two goals in the team???s first meeting with archrival Boston College in a 3-3 tie.
She also enjoyed a five-game point streak in which the team went 3-0-2. Koller was named to the Hockey East Honor Roll on Oct. 24 for her two goals against BC. Koller was the runner-up for Player of the Month behind Boston College's Deb Spillane.
Freshman goaltender Allyse Wilcox (Grand Blanc, Mich.) was the second runner-up for Goaltender of the Month with a 3-2-4 record, 2.44 goals-against average and .924 save percentage. Wilcox earned Hockey East ITECH Rookie of the Week honors for making 28 saves in the Terriers' season opener against Northeastern on Oct. 7. Wilcox earned Hockey East Defensive Player of the Week honors for making 98 saves in three league games, leading the Terriers to a win and two ties.
Freshman defenseman Amanda Shaw (St. Thomas, Ont.) (3-5???8) was the runner-up for Rookie of the Month behind Koller. Shaw was one of five freshmen recently named to the Hockey East All-Star team that will take on the U.S. Women's Olympic team. Shaw was named to the Hockey East Honor Roll this week for her two goals, including the game-winner, against Northeastern on Oct. 26.
