
Wiart Named Hockey East Rookie of the Week

BOSTON ??? Freshman Nicki Wiart (Queensbury, N.Y.) grabbed Hockey East Rookie of the Week honors for her game-winning, shorthanded, breakaway goal on Saturday, Dec. 3 in a 2-1 upset of league-leading Providence. Wiart assisted on the other Terrier goal and added two more assists in a 7-2 victory on Sunday, Dec. 4, against Sacred Heart, bringing her weekend point total to 4 (1-3).
Four other Terriers were honored for their play this weekend. Junior Cara Hendry (Calgary, Alta) and freshman Allyse Wilcox (Grand Blanc, Mich.) earned their second consecutive appearance on the Honor Roll. Sophomore Stephanie Armstrong (Stoneham, Mass.) and freshman Erin Seman (Ramsey, Minn.) were each named to the Honor Roll for the first time this season.
Armstrong recorded two goals and two assists in Sunday???s win over the Pioneers. Hendry set up both goals against Providence and tallied a goal and two assists in Sunday???s win. Seman led all Terriers in scoring Sunday with two goals and three assists on the day. Wilcox made 25 saves and earned the game???s second star in the upset win over Providence on Saturday.
The Terriers have finished the first half of their schedule and return to action January, 7 against New Hampshire at Walter Brown Arena at 2 p.m.
