Men's Golf Rallies to Finish Ninth at CCSU Invite

The Boston University men???s golf team finished ninth in the 12-team Central Connecticut State Invitational, which concluded Sunday afternoon in New Britain, Conn. The Terriers shot 626 (+50), to finish 35 strokes behind team champion and host CCSU. The Blue Devils carded a 591 (+15) to defeat Army by four shots.
BU was in 11th place after Saturday???s first round, in which the Terriers shot 317 (+29). However, the Terriers improved significantly in the final 18 holes, shooting a second-round 309 (+21) to jump up two spots. BU was led by senior Remy Sloan (Montvale, N.J.) who shot 150 (+6), including a solid 74 (+2) in Sunday???s final round. Sophomore Mike O???Day (Westboro, Mass.) shot 155 (+11), good for a 39th-place tie, while junior Steven Smith (Dix Hills, N.Y.) was tied for 42nd at 156 (+12). Jed Prescott (New London, N.H.) shot 165 (+21), good for a 62nd-place tie, while freshman Chris Conroy (Annapolis, Md.) finished 67th at 173 (+29). Brendan Ray of CCSU was the individual medalist, carding a 141 (-3).
BU returns to action on Friday when the Terriers play in the Quinnipiac Invitational in Hamden, Conn.
