Men's Swimming Falls to UMass

BOSTON – The Boston University men’s swimming and diving team fell to the University of Massachusetts 127.5-97.5. Brian Lawler continued to shine in the diving events, claiming victory in the 1- and 3-meter diving events. Moodie Griffin, Javier Fonseca and Harrison Kobb swept first, second and third in the 200 breaststroke.
The men’s team opened with a third place finish in the 400-yard medley relay, with a time of 3:34.03. The Terriers followed it up with a two-way tie for first place. Ben Kaiser swam a 10:03.07, matching UMass’ Justin Brooks time. The two swimmers split the first place score.
Arik Seiler won 200 free in 1:43.86, while Brian Lawler continued to dominate in the diving events, winning the 1-meter with a score of 294.00. Lawler followed up his in the 1-meter with a win in the 3-meter, scoring 275.25.
James Lands claimed victory in the 200 butterfly, clocking in a whole second ahead of the next finisher.
Seiler won his second event of the day in the 500 free. Seiler finished in 4:43.32.
Moodie Griffin, Javier Fonseca and Harrison Kobb swept the top three spots in the 200 breaststroke with times of 2:16.12, 2:20.36 and 2:22.31, respectively.
The Terriers host the Terrier Invite on Nov. 17-19 at BU's Competition Pool.
