Women's Swimming and Diving Finishes Third at Terrier Invitational

BOSTON - Eight top ten finishes boosted the Boston University women's swimming and diving team to third place in the final standings on the third day of the Terrier Invitational. Brigette O'Shaughnessy claimed victory in the 200 breaststroke, while Eve Kinsella, Sarah Doersam and Clara Van Allen earned two top-ten finishes apiece.
O'Shaughnessy clocked in with a winning time of two minutes, 22.91 seconds in the 200 breastroke. Christina Ruggiero continued to impress in the distance events with a fourth-place finish in the 1650 free, touching the wall in 17:38.98.
Kinsella's two top-ten finishes came in the 200 back and the 200 fly, as she placed eighth in both events. In the backstroke, she finished in 2:12.10, while she clocked in at 2:14.69 in the butterfly.
Doersam took 10-place honors in the 200 fly's second final. She finished the race in 2:09.48. Her other top-ten finish came in the 200 back (2:06.81).
Van Allen was the final Terrier to earn multiple finishes in the top ten as she placed third in the 200 breaststroke (2:24.03) and eighth in the 1650 free (17:50.83).
BU will return to action on Saturday, Dec. 1 when it welcomes America East foe Stony Brook at 2:00 p.m.
