
Bloemers Named Hockey East TPS Hockey Player of the Week

WAKEFIELD, Mass. - Sophomore Jonnie Bloemers (Brooklyn Center, Minn.) has been named the Hockey East TPS Hockey Player of the Week, as was announced by the league office Monday. Bloemers scored three goals this week, including the game-winner in overtime against ninth-ranked Boston College Thursday and two in the Terriers' 11-1 rout of Sacred Heart Saturday.
Bloemers has started each of the Terriers' 17 games, totaling four goals and four assists for eight points. Her four goals this season tie her total from last year, in which she also notched 10 assists in 34 games.
The sophomore scored the game-winning goal 2:43 into overtime against the Eagles to give the Terriers a 3-2 victory, only their second win against BC in BU's three-year history.
Bloemers's scored in the first period and again with 1:49 remaining in the game against Sacred Heart, a contest in which the Terriers set new team records for goals scored (11), combined goals scored (12), goal differential (10) and shots on goal (56).
