Men's Golf Finishes 11th at River Hawk Invite

BOSTON – The Boston University men’s golf team finished 11th out of 14 teams at the River Hawk Invitational, hosted by UMass-Lowell on Sunday, April 22, and Monday, April 23. Freshman Akhilesh Chitlangia finished in a three-way tie for 21st, shooting 81-82—163.
Jack Cheney was the next golfer to place, landing in 40th overall, after shooting 86-83—169. Senior Steven Smith had a dramatic improvement after his first round, shooting 78 in the second round and chipping 14 strokes off his first-round total. Smith finished 44th overall. Senior Wayne Hopkins was also met with success in his second round, improving 17 strokes from his first round, to fininsh 55th (95-78—173).
The Terriers will have a week to prepare for the America East Tournament in Binghamton, N.Y., on May 5-6.
