BOSTON – The Boston University men’s basketball team has signed power forward Will Creekmore, small forward John Holland and center Matt Killen as the Class of 2011, head coach Dennis Wolff announced today. Creekmore, Holland and Killen will complement and bolster the Terriers’existing frontcourt.
Creekmore was an all-state selection by the Oklahoma Coaches Association, the Tulsa World and the Daily Oklahoman. Twice selected to the Tulsa World All-Metro Team, he is a three-time all-district and all-conference honoree. The Edison High School graduate averaged 23 points, 17 rebounds, four assists, three steals, and three blocks per game. Creekmore shot 68 percent from the field, including 57 percent from 3-point. The 6-9 forward was Class 5A’s leading scorer and rebounder as a senior and was the state’s leading rebounder as a junior and a senior.
Holland, originally from the Bronx, is coming off a year at St. Benedict’s Prep school in Newark, N.J. There he played under Dennis Dubose, averaging 10 points, eight rebounds, three assists and two steals per game. The 6-5 Holland earned all-league honors.
The 6-10 Killen averaged a double-double of 11 points and 11 rebounds, along with four blocks, for coach Chris Hansen at Blue Valley High School in Kansas. A co-captain of his high school squad, Killen was named an All-League performer as well as an All-Mid-Kansas All-Star.
The Terriers return 10 from the 2006-07 team that reached the semifinals of the America East tournament and ranked in the top 20 nationally in scoring defense for the fourth straight year.
