
Crerar, Lawler Compete at 2007 ECAC Diving Championships

BOSTON - Sophomore divers Brian Lawler and Alex Crerar competed in this weekend's ECAC Diving Championships from Friday, Feb. 16 to Sunday, Feb. 18. Lawler won both the one- and three-meter events, while Crerar finished third in the one-meter and second in the three-meter.
Alex Crerar finished third in the one-meter on Friday, with 248.25 points, just five points shy of second place. One day later, Crerar enter the three-meter finals sitting in third place with 254.95 points, however the native of Regina, Saskatchewan made a comeback in the finals and leapt over Marist's Melissa Mangona to take home second-place honors with 261.65 points.
Brian Lawler claimed the three-meter board with 306.65 points, 19.15 points ahead of his closest competitor, Rider's Dylan Korn. Lawler had come into the finals in the second-place position, by less than three points, however in the finals Lawler's six dives were tops in the field. On Sunday, the sophomore out of San Luis Obispo, Calif., again battled with Rider's Dylan Korn for the top spot, and again Lawler came out on top with 304.75 points. For his efforts, Lawler earned Diver of the Meet honors.
Coming up next for the two divers is the NCAA Zone A Championships, held at Rutgers University from March 2-4.
