SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Fighting an increasing cross/headwind and a chop in the water for the first 750m of the course, Boston University women's crew reclaimed the Kittell Cup with a five-second win over Syracuse on Onondaga Lake Saturday morning.
The Terrier varsity eight crossed the finish line in 7:18.2, besting Syracuse's time of 7:23.2. The eight also defeated the University of Buffalo, who raced in a time of 7:37.8.
The second varsity eight also claimed a victory Saturday morning, defeating the Orangewomen by eight and a half seconds. BU's varsity fours placed second in its race, while the novice eights finished third.
The Terriers return to action on April 5 against George Washington and Navy in the Playfair Cup in Camden, N.J.
