The on-ice recognition during the second intermission included the senior class from both squads along with head coach Neil Roberts of the men's teams and assistant coach Liz Driscoll of the women's team.
Each program earned both the America East regular-season and tournament titles, as BU was the only school in the country to boast all four championships in their respective conference this fall. It marked the first time since 1999, and just the second time ever, that the feat was accomplished in the history of the America East Conference.
Both teams earned automatic bids to their respective NCAA tournament by virtue of their America East tournament crowns. The men's team posted a 1-0 victory over Fairleigh Dickinson in the first round before falling to St. John's by an identical 1-0 score. The women put up a strong fight in a 2-0 loss to fourth-seeded USC in the first round.
