The Boston University men's indoor track and field team won five events en route to a fourth-place finish at the Tufts Snowflake Classic on Saturday at the Dussault Complex. Senior Kodjo Wilder won the long jump and was part of the winning 4x100m relay team and the Terriers swept the hurdle events and took the top two spots in the discus.
The Terriers tallied 94 points at the meet, outpacing Southern Maine (88.5) for fourth place. Rensselaer took home the title with 141 points, while Bates (132.5) and Tufts (104.5) also finished ahead of BU.
BU swept the hurdles events with senior Jason Nardella winning the 110m hurdles in 15.28 and junior Mark Mazzochette taking the 400m hurdles with a time of 55.91.
Wilder, junior Max Esposito, senior David Barth and Nardella teamed to take the 4x100m relay in 43.97 and the Terriers' 4x400m relay squad was third with a time of 3:29.87.
Wilder won the long jump as well with a leap of 6.58m. Junior Mac-Alen Gerard was second in the triple jump with a mark of 13.80m and classmate Jordan Cumper finished seventh in the pole vault, clearing 4.03m.
The Terriers took the top two spots in the discus, with sophomore Dan Withrow qualifying for the IC4A Championship with a throw of 50.77m, while junior Jan Bicanic was second at 46.69m.
Sophomore Mike Zimmerman was second in the 800m run with a mark of 2:00.34, while freshmen Billy Whelan (2:01.36) and Joe Greenspun (2:01.36) were sixth and seventh. Greenspun also finished third in the 1,500m run (4:04.60)
Junior Max Esposito scored for the Terriers in the sprints, finishing eighth in the 400m dash in 52.20.
The Terriers are in action again next weekend, competing at the Texas Relays, the Florida Relays and the Stonehill Invitational.
