Stong Named AE Golf Performer of the Week

Cambridge, Mass. - Senior Lauren Stong has started off the spring campaign on the right foot as she has earned the America East's Performer of the Week accolade, the conference announced Tuesday morning.
Stong, who placed 12th at the 2008 America East Championship, finished the Brown Invitational's 36-hole competition at Thorney Lea Golf Course in Brockton, Mass. last weekend with a 167. She carded an 86 the first day and improved to 81 the following day.
The Miami, Fla., native played the last eight holes of the event one over par on the par 72 course. Her score was good enough to place 19th individually among a strong field, including defending Ivy League champion, Harvard.
BU will return to the links on Saturday (April 11) for the Central Connecticut Invitational in Wethersfield, Conn.
