Watch BU All-Acces/Awards Reception
For the first time in the department's history, fans were able Monday night to watch the annual end-of-the-year Student-Athlete Awards reception. Held at the Metcalf Trustee Center, it was preceded online by the weekly show BU All-Access, which gives exclusive access to news and highlights of Terrier athletics from BU players and coaches.
Some of the senior guests that appeared on BU All-Access were lacrosse's Xan Weitzel, softball's Rachel Hebert, men's basketball's Tyler Morris, women's tennis' Elizabeth Corrao and athletic director Mike Lynch with the State of Terrier Nation in the final segment.
Matching the BU single-game record with seven assists, Weitzel helped the Terriers remain undefeated in conference play with a 19-8 victory over Vermont. She discussed Saturday's all-important contest against Albany, as the victor will claim the regular-season title and the right to host the America East Championship.
Coming off a sweep this past weekend over Binghamton, Hebert previewed Wednesday's double-header against Providence and weekend series at Maine.
Recently named to the Division I-AAA Scholar-Athlete Team, Morris recounted the Terriers' journey to the CBI Semifinals and what his plans are following graduation.
Corrao and the women's tennis team will enter the America East Championship on Saturday seeking its 17th straight title. She missed most of her final season due to injury but returned to action on Friday on Senior Day to help BU sweep Hartford, 7-0.
Honors that were presented following BU All-Access included the Mickey Cochrane Award (top male athlete), the Mildred Barnes Award (top female athlete) and the John B. Simpson Award for the male and female senior student-athletes who demonstrated enthusiasm and leadership.
