The Boston University Department of Athletics opened the 2010-11 school year with its annual Welcome Back BBQ for over 500 student-athletes along with the coaches and staff also in attendance at the BU Softball Field. Following the reunion of friends and meeting of new faces, the students ate dinner and then participated in a fun but competitive game of kickball.
A senior on the women's basketball team and president of the department's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), Krystyn McIntyre addressed the gathering and thanked her classmates for signing up for several community related events this coming year, including the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure.
