
Terriers Open Spring Play with 3-2 Setback Against Siena

PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. – The Boston University golf team began the 2012 portion of its season in match play form against Siena at the PGA Resort in Port St. Lucie, Fla., as the Terriers were edged by Siena, 3-2, on Tuesday afternoon.
Freshman Kristyna Pavlickova anchored BU’s efforts with the lowest score of the day, carding a two-over 74 to defeat her opponent, 6 and 5.
Senior Jill Eelman won the closest match of the afternoon, as she claimed the 18th hole to win her match, 1-up, and claim the Terriers’ second and final point of the day.
Pavlickova and Eelman were the Terriers victors on Tuesday while teammates, Flor Canedo (3 and 2), Courtney Dampolo (7 and 6) and Christina Patracuolla (8 and 7) lost their matches.
Rookie Christina Patracuolla shined in the practice round, as she made a hole in one. The Terriers also made four birdies as part of their “Spring Birdies” event.
BU will return to action this weekend as the Terriers remain in Port St. Lucie to compete in the Siena Invitational on March 16 and 17.
