BOSTON - Kristyna Pavlickova and Flor Canedo have been named the captains for the 2012-13 Boston University women's golf team, as announced by head coach Bruce Chalas on Wednesday.
"Boston University golf team co-captains Kristyna Pavlickova and Flor Canedo will bring a lot of structure and leadership to the golf team," said Chalas.
Both Pavlickova and Canedo will be sophomores during the 2012-13 season and have a year of experience on the BU women's golf team. During their freshman campaign, the duo led the Terriers to a fourth place finish at the MAAC Championships. Pavlickova placed fifth in the three-day tournament while Canedo posted a 14th-place finish. Pavlickova led the team with two individual titles during the 2011-12 season, capturing the Sacred Hear Fall Classic title and the Hartford Invitational title en route to being named the MAAC Rookie of the Year.
Canedo was successful at the Sacred Hear Fall Classic as well, placing third the field of 44 golfers.
"KiKi (Kristyna) and Flor both have excellent practice habits and will bring a vast amount of tournament experience to the team next year," said Chalas. "Both players have demonstrated a willingness to take on a leadership role."
