BOSTON - Boston University women’s golf head coach Bruce Chalas has announced the addition of two newcomers to the BU women’s golf team for the 2012-2013 season. Sarah Easton and Maddy Silverman will join the team for the upcoming season.
Easton will arrive in Boston from Oreland, Pa., where she helped lead her team to the Suburban One Championship in 2011. Easton also became the first female at her school to make the starting eight on her team. She was a two-time Suburban One First Team All-League honoree and named the Upper Dublin High School’s Top Female Golfer in 2010 and 2011.
Easton was also a four-year member of the swimming team that won four consecutive Suburban One Championships and back-to-back District One Championships in 2011 and 2012. In addition to playing for Upper Dublin High School, she was a seven year member of the Manufacturer’s Golf and Country Club junior gold team.
Silverman will come to BU from Wilmington, Del., where she was a three-year captain at Tower Hill High School. Silverman won back-to-back Delaware Junior Amateur titles in 2011 and 2012. She also claimed the individual title at the 2012 Delaware Junior Open.
In addition to playing golf, Silverman was an All-Conference Second Team selection in Field Hockey.
Easton and Silverman will join fellow freshman Daniela Sanchez and Emily Tillo in the Terriers’ Class of 2016.
