After helping guide the varsity eight boat to the silver medal at the CAA Championship and the bronze at the Eastern Sprints, Cheryl Copson has been named the Most Valuable Player of the women's rowing team.
Copson was an All-New England First Team honoree and Boston University Scarlet Key recipient. A native of Peterborough, Ont., she sat in the stroke seat on BU's varsity eight boat during the spring season and helped the Terriers claim the Council Cup against Northeastern for the first time since 2005 along with the Kettell Cup against Syracuse.
After graduating in May with a degree in archaeology, she helped Team Canada win the gold medal in the women's four at the Under 23 World Rowing Championships.
