BOSTON - The preseason Patriot League favorite Boston University men's basketball team participated in the seventh annual Steps2Cure NF walk last Sunday (Oct. 20) at Lake Quannapowitt in Wakefield, Mass.
The Terriers attended the event to support their No. 1 fan Dylan Flynn, who was diagnosed early in life with neurofibromatosis. The group was part of 300 participants that either went on a three-mile walk around the Lake or competed in an officially timed 5K road race.
Flynn became a member of the BU squad in the fall of 2012 through Team IMPACT. The non-profit organization was chartered to improve the quality of life for children facing life-threatening illnesses by establishing and expanding vibrant team-based support networks.
Last spring during the annual team banquet, the Terriers presented Flynn with his own official BU basketball jersey.
