CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - Sophomore Emily Tillo of the Boston University golf team was named Patriot League Golfer of the Month, the conference announced on Thursday.
Tillo finished September with back-to-back top-five finishes while sharing the team lead with a 75.38 scoring average. She came in fourth place at the Dartmouth Invitational with a three-over 147, which included a two-under 70 in the first round, and led the Terriers to second place in the 11-team field.
The Jacksonville, Fla., native also finished fourth at the Yale Intercollegiate, where she finished with a six-over 219 on the par-71 course. She helped the Terriers to a fifth-place finish in the event. Tillo also placed 44th at the Bucknell Invitational as the Terriers finished seventh.
She is the lone Terrier to have posted two top-five finishes so far this season and only one of her eight rounds through the first three tournaments of the fall have had a score above 80.
BU will be back in action on Oct. 20 when the Terriers begin the two-day Sacred Heart Fall Classic.
